Overview:
A 2-night stay in the Merzouga Dunes is the ultimate way to experience the Moroccan Sahara. Unlike a rushed single-night trip, a 48-hour itinerary lets you slow down, sync with the rhythm of the desert, and explore deep into the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Highlights:
Meet your guides at the edge of the dunes in Merzouga village. Board a camel for a peaceful 60-minute trek into the rolling orange sands as the sky transitions to deep shades of purple and pink.
Stop on top of one of Morocco's highest dunes to take photos and watch the sun dip below the horizon.
Arrive at your camp to a welcoming cup of hot mint tea. Savor a multi-course traditional Moroccan dinner, including tagine, couscous, and fresh fruits, followed by live Berber drum music around a roaring central campfire.
4x4 Desert Exploration & Nomadic Culture:
Wake up early to catch the desert sunrise, when the sand looks like liquid gold. Enjoy a hearty breakfast back at the camp.
Morning 4x4 Excursion: Hop into a 4x4 vehicle to explore beyond the sand dunes. Visit a nomadic Berber family living in traditional woven tents to learn about their way of life over tea.
Travel to Khamlia Village to listen to the spiritual, rhythmic sounds of Gnawa music performed by local musicians. Enjoy a traditional Berber pizza for lunch.
Return to the camp to grab a board and try sandboarding down the steep dune slopes.
Enjoy a quiet, incredibly clear night of stargazing under the Milky Way, unpolluted by city lights.
Enjoy your final breakfast with sweeping views before taking a 4x4 or a morning camel ride back to the village for your onward journey.
