Overview:
An overnight stay at a Berber desert camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga is one of Morocco’s most iconic travel experiences. Our overnight package follows a standard magical structure: arriving at the desert edge in the late afternoon, embarking on a sunset camel trek or 4x4 ride into the dunes, dining on traditional tagines, enjoying a fire-lit evening of Berber drumming, stargazing, and waking up early for a spectacular Saharan sunrise.
Highlights:
Arrive at the hotel in Merzouga to park your car and prepare for your desert night.
One-hour sunset camel trek (or a 20-minute 4x4 ride) over the golden sand sea to the camp.
Welcome mint tea at the camp, followed by sandboarding down the dunes as dusk falls.
Freshly cooked Moroccan feast, including Tajine, couscous, and traditional soups.
Traditional live Berber drumming and chanting around a central campfire under the Milky Way.
Wake up early to catch the desert sunrise, eat a hearty breakfast, and trek back to town.
