Desert tours from Errachidia: what to know

Our private tours from Errachidia take you to the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, the most beautiful part of the Moroccan Sahara. You travel only with your family or friends, with a local Berber driver-guide in an air-conditioned vehicle, and we pick you up at your hotel or riad. Expect a sunset camel ride, a night in a desert camp with a private bathroom, and sunrise over the dunes.

How far is Merzouga from Errachidia?

About 135 km: about 2 hours by car. That is why even a half-day or one-night trip works well.

What will you see on the way?

Highlights include the viewpoint over the Ziz Valley, its long palm groves and old earthen ksour.

Which tour should I choose?

If you are short on time, choose the sunset tour or the overnight desert trip. With one more day you can add a 4×4 excursion to visit nomad families and hear Gnawa music in Khamlia.

When is the best time to go?

March to May and September to November have the best temperatures. Winter days are sunny but desert nights are cold; summer middays are very hot, so camel rides take place at sunset and sunrise.
